The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has concluded its homicide investigation into the death of 53-year-old Yolanda Sturdivant. JSO has charged a 57-year-old man in connection to the homicide.
On June 6, 2024, officers responded to the 2300 block of Bradford Street for a reported shooting. Officers found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, Sturdivant, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
JSO’s Homicide Team and Crime Scene Unit responded to investigate the deadly shooting. Homicide Detectives identified 57-year-old Bobby Simpson as a suspect in the shooting. Simpson was arrested for Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Tampering with Evidence.
