Jackson County Sheriff’s Department arrests man in shooting at Oakridge Apartments

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a man in connection to a shooting at the Oakridge Apartments. JCSD Sheriff John Ledbetter reports that around 8 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a shots fired call at the Oakridge Apartments on Gorenflo Road.

At the scene, deputies found 29-year-old Joseph Ezell suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand. Sheriff Ledbetter said 66-year-old Donnie Miller fled the scene in a vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle at Big Ridge and Tucker Road before taking Miller into custody.

Investigators believe the men got into an argument and Miller retrieved a gun from his car and shot Ezell. Donnie Miller has been charged with Aggravated Assault and was booked into the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.
