A woman is deceased following an incident in Jacksboro, Texas. The Jacksboro Police Department said in a media release that officers responded to the 400 block of North 4th Street in reference to an unattended death around 11:56 a.m. on April 16, 2024.
At the scene, officers witnessed a man sitting in a chair on the porch with the front door of the residence open. JPD says officers approached and found a woman’s body lying face down on the floor. The female was deceased. Authorities say it was determined that the woman had been beaten to death.
The man was reportedly found to have injuries on his hands consistent with the incident. The man was arrested and transported to the Jack County Jail. JPD says the victim and suspect are related and lived in the same residence. No other details are available at this time.
