Irving Police arrest murder suspect Yunier Aldazabal who is accused of killing his girlfriend

The Irving Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to the murder of Sucel Cuba Gomez. IPD reports that its officers responded to an unknown call for service in the 3100 block of Walnut Hill Lane around 6:15 a.m. on July 1, 2024.

At the scene, officers found a female victim deceased in the parking lot with multiple stab wounds. The victim was later identified as 42-year-old Sucel Cuba Gomez. IPD says the suspect, 44-year-old Yunier Aldazabal, had fled the area in a vehicle.

Around 9:00 a.m., officers found the vehicle with the suspect in a parking lot in the 2800 block of West Irving Boulevard. The suspect was promptly taken into custody. IPD says it was learned that the suspect and victim had been dating.
