The Irmo Police Department has announced the arrest of a man for kidnapping and rape. According to IPD, 35-year-old Daquan M. Williams was arrested in connection to what authorities are calling an extremely violent assault. Around 7 a.m. on March 6, 2024, officers responded to a call in which a victim said she was raped.
The victim informed officers that a man struck them in the face, held a knife to their throat, and threatened to kill them while sexually assaulting them. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Officers identified Daquan M. Williams as the suspect in the case.
After arrest warrants were obtained, Williams was taken into custody just before 5 p.m. on the same day. He is charged with Kidnapping, Criminal Sexual Conduct, 1st Degree Forcible Rape, Assault and Battery, and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. Investigators say they believe Williams may be connected to similar cases in the area.
