The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a public schools employee. According to a news release from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Lettie Marshall Dent Elementary School in Mechanicsville for a death investigation around 10:05 p.m. on Tuesday.

Criminal Investigation Division detectives and a Forensic Investigator from the Office of the Medical Examiner responded to the scene. The Sheriff’s Office said the initial investigation revealed no foul play.

The deceased has been identified as an employee of the St. Mary’s County Public Schools.
