The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to a homicide that occurred overnight. IMPD says 25-year-old Andreus King was arrested for his alleged role in the homicide that occurred on Indy’s north side.
Officers in the area of the 6500 block of Allisonville Road responded to gunshots they heard. Officers searched the area for the shooter and any victims. Multiple 911 callers informed officers that area residents also heard gunshots and a possible scene location in the 6300 block of Brookline Drive.
Officers found an individual who reported a person known to her had been shot. The individual’s whereabouts were unknown at the time. Officers searched the area and found an adult male victim suffering from injuries consistent with gunshot wounds in a wooded area.
The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Later that evening, officers responded to Community North Hospital after a victim walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police say the victim at the hospital was Andreus King who was ultimately arrested for attempted murder. Hours later, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Detectives say they found multiple firearms during the investigation.
The victim’s identity is not being released at this time.
