The Hudson Police Department has announced the arrest of 34-year-old Cristobal Orlando Ascencio-Chacon of Hudson, New York. Ascencio-Chacon was arrested and charged with four counts of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree (a child less than 11 years old).

HPD says it received information after a domestic incident that Ascencio-Chacon had sexually abused young children on September 7, 2024. HPD contacted the New York State Child Abuse and Maltreatment Register and also began working with CPS.

HPD says the investigation was turned over to the Detective Division. Authorities allege that all of the children were less than seven years old at the time of the sexual abuse. After being arrested by HPD, Ascencio-Chacon was arrested by NYSP for additional charges of Sexual Abuse 1st and Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child that allegedly occurred outside of Hudson.

Ascencio-Chacon is currently being held in the Columbia County Jail without bond. He is scheduled to return to court at 9 a.m. on October 29, 2024.
