The Howard County Police Department said in a media release that it is investigating a hit-and-run collision in Jessup. The incident happened on March 7, 2024 and claimed the life of a pedestrian. Around 7:15 p.m., a vehicle was traveling northbound on Washington Boulevard south of Route 175 when it hit an adult male pedestrian crossing Washington Boulevard.

HCPD says the vehicle continued north on Washington Boulevard and east on Route 175. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. Based on the preliminary information, police do not believe he was in the crosswalk. HCPD believes the vehicle was a white or silver Ford F-150 Raptor.
