The Houston Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that took place around 2:50 a.m. on January 4, 2024 at 3108 Burkett Street. The 24-year-old victim has not been identified at this time. The identity of the victim will be made public once the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences notifies the family members.

According to authorities, patrol officers responded to a call about a shooting at a residence at the aforementioned location. Once officers reached the scene, they located the victim lying unresponsive on the driveway. Police say he had been shot multiple times.

Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The motive and suspect description are not known at this time.
