On November 14, 2023, at approximately 8 p.m. the Houston Independent School District notified HPD of a student whose parents did not pick her up after school. Officers were dispatched to 7607 Bankside Drive where they found a 54-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and an unresponsive 34-year-old.

HPD detectives say that the female died from blunt force trauma and the male an apparent suicide. Responding paramedics pronounced the man and woman deceased at the scene.

The child was taken into Harris County Child Protective Services custody.
