The Houston Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in the disappearance and presumed death of a woman from 11927 East Freeway around 2:15 a.m. on September 22, 2023. 51-year-old Yoland J. Washington is charged with murder and booked into the Dallas County Jail.

At this time, the body of 22-year-old Ms. Deundrea Ford has not been found. According to Homicide Division Sergeant R. Montalvo and Detective D. Higgins, Ms. Ford left her workplace with an unknown male in a white Ford Transit van on September 22, 2023.

When friends and family were unable to make contact with Ford, she was reported missing on September 23. An investigation was initiated by the HPD Missing Persons Unit and the HPD Homicide Division.

Authorities say further investigation and evidence led to Washington being identified as a suspect and linked to Ford’s death. Washington was arrested in Dallas on an unrelated charge and remains in the Dallas County Jail while waiting for extradition to Harris County.
