Hobbs Police Department investigating fatal shooting of 28-year-old man

The Hobbs Police Department is investigating after a 28-year-old man was fatally shot on April 8. According to HPD, officers responded to the 1000 block of South Linam Street following a report of someone shot around 10:50 p.m. on April 8, 2024.

At the scene, officers found a 28-year-old Hobbs man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Covenant Health Hobbs Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. HPD identified the victim as Gregory Brooks.

The investigation is ongoing. No additional details are available at this time.
