Hendry County, Florida – The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting on Kentucky Avenue on Saturday.
According to an HCSO release, deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the area of 944 Kentucky Avenue around 3:30 p.m. on July 5, 2025.
At the scene, responding deputies found 27-year-old Anthony Darnell Steele suffering from gunshot wounds.
Authorities say the victim was transported to Hendry Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office said that a subject had been identified. At this time, authorities are currently searching for that individual.
