The Hagerstown Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred around 7:10 p.m. on Sunday. HPD reports that its officers responded to the 300 block of Jefferson Street for a report of shots fired.

Officers were informed that the victim had been transported to Meritus Medical Center with a gunshot wound. HPD says the 20-year-old male victim is in serious but stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives have responded to the scene to investigate. HPD believes this was a targeted shooting between individuals known to each other. No other details are available at this time.
