The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating the death of an eight-year-old. Officers at the Bay Creek Precinct responded to a medical call on Vine Springs Trace around 2:16 p.m. today. At the scene, EMS determined that an eight-year-old female was deceased.

According to authorities, the eight-year-old had been at home with an adult female when she suffered some kind of medical emergency. The adult female called the father who came home and found the child unresponsive. The father called 911 and started CPR.

Due to the circumstances of the death, Homicide Detectives and the Medical Examiner were called to the scene.
