The Gwinnett County Police Department is currently investigating what it calls a domestic-related homicide in Snellville. GCPD reports that South Precinct officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 3500 block of Glen Summit Lane around 9:40 p.m. on July 11, 2024.

A friend of the female victim reported she had not heard from her. The friend contacted someone with a key to the residence to check on her. When the key holder arrived at the residence, the female was found deceased.

At the scene, responding officers found an adult female deceased inside the residence. An adult male was found alive but suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was transported to an area hospital with what authorities say is a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

GCPD says the preliminary investigation suggests the parties lived together and the incident is domestic-related. No other details are available at this time.
