The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a domestic-related incident that led to a shooting. According to GCPD, Bay Creek Precinct officers responded to a person-shot call in the 1300 block of Ivey Pointe Drive in Lawrenceville around 2:30 p.m. on March 14, 2024. At the scene, responding officers found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound to the right shoulder.

The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene to investigate the shooting. GCPD says the preliminary information indicates that the shooting resulted from an isolated domestic incident between a couple.

Detectives identified 37-year-old Anthony Young as the shooter. He is charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Crimes, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Young is not in custody at this time.
