The Gwinnett County Police Department has charged two suspects accused of being involved in multiple ATM robberies. West Precinct officers were dispatched to a robbery at a bank on Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Norcross on September 9. Upon arrival, officers learned that two suspects had robbed the ATM technician as he was repairing the machine.
Detectives learned about a similar robbery at an ATM on Hampton Green in Duluth four days later on September 13. Forsyth County detectives learned a similar crime occurred at a bank in the county on September 22. Forsyth County detectives coordinated with Gwinnett County detectives to share information about the robberies.
Detectives suspect the same individuals were responsible for these crimes. Authorities say they used data from Flock cameras and social media to bring criminal charges against 30-year-old Danzil Earl of Atlanta and 31-year-old Ronnie Lewis of Texas. On November 27, Danzil Earl was apprehended and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on one count of robbery.
Although Ronnie Lewis has an active warrant for robbery, he is not in custody. Detectives say additional charges could be coming as the investigation continues. Anyone with information about the case or Lewis’s whereabouts is asked to contact Gwinnett County Police Department detectives at 770-513-5300. Alternatively, callers can remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
