Gwinnett County Police have charged two suspects in a slaying on October 21 on Jimmy Carter Boulevard. In the early hours of October 21, Gwinnett Police responded to Northside Hospital off Johnson Ferry Road for a report of a male with a gunshot wound who was transported to the hospital by friends.
A short time later, officers were informed that the victim had succumbed to his injuries. Detectives believe the incident occurred at a business in the 4800 block of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The victim was later identified as 20-year-old Edward Thompson of Peachtree Corners.
On October 24, 19-year-old Styles Gann was arrested and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail. Gann is charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Felonies, Reckless Conduct, and Unauthorized Discharge of a Firearm within 50 Yards of a Public Highway.
On December 7, 20-year-old Kevin Pacheco was arrested and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail. Pacheco is charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Felonies, Reckless Conduct, and Unauthorized Discharge of a Firearm within 50 Yards of a Public Highway.
Detectives believe the shooting happened following an altercation between the suspects and the victim.
