The Gresham Police Department is looking for the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run on East Burnside Road in the city’s 13th traffic fatality this year. Just before 6:30 PM, officers and medical personnel responded to a reported traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on East Burnside Road at 181 Avenue. As officers were responding to the scene, callers informed authorities that the vehicle had fled westbound on Burnside.

Once police and medical personnel reached the scene, the pedestrian was deemed deceased. Witnesses helped officers find the location of the suspect vehicle which had become disabled. It was abandoned by the suspect on Burnside Road near 172 Avenue.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect. The East Metro Vehicular Crimes Team responded to investigate the crash. Anyone with information who hasn’t spoken to an officer should contact the Gresham Police Tip Line at 503-618-2719.
