Update 2 – Greenville Police have announced the arrest of Tyredius Woods in connection to the fatal shooting of Latia Wilson. Woods was apprehended in Memphis, Tennessee and is awaiting extradition to Washington County.
The fatal shooting occurred on Saturday morning in the 200 block of Utah Street. GPD says Wilson suffered a single gunshot wound to the side. At this time, GPD is actively searching for Woods.

Original – The Greenville Police Department is investigating the city’s third homicide of 2024. GPD reports that officers responded to the 200 block of Utah Street around 2 a.m. on June 8, 2024 for reports of shots fired in the area.
At the scene, officers found a victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the side. The victim was transported to Delta Health Systems where she succumbed to her injuries.
GPD has identified the victim as 26-year-old Latia Wilson. GPD confirms it has a person of interest and is still following up on leads in the fatal shooting.
