The Greenville Police Department reports that it is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred around 10:40 p.m. on Friday. GPD says its officers responded to the 1300 block of St. Mary Circle for a person shot.

Authorities say a black male was found lying in the roadway suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Greenville Police have identified the victim as 20-year-old Jarrien King of Greenville. No other details are being provided at this time. GPD asks anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 662-378-8477.
