The Greensboro Police Department has provided an update on the homicide investigation on South Benbow Road. GPD reports that its officers responded to 2104 South Benbow Road around 7 a.m. on August 17, 2024 for a report of a person down.

At the scene, officers found 37-year-old Jawan Aunree Warren-Jackson unresponsive suffering from gunshot wounds. Warren-Jackson was pronounced deceased at the scene. GPD detectives and forensic investigators responded to investigate.

GPD confirms this is the city’s 25th homicide of the year. No other details are available at this time.
