Greene County Sheriff’s Office searching for individual responsible for burning puppy that passed away

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the individual who abused a puppy and dropped it off near Fellows Lake. On the morning of January 11, 2024, deputies responded to an incident in which a dog had been tied up and burned near Fellows Lake around the 6500 block of North Farm Road 197. A passerby witnessed a 1-year-old blue healer mix with burns on her body and zip ties around her legs.

The passerby transported the dog to a local vet where it received medical care. Detectives responded to the scene to collect evidence and speak to nearby neighborhoods. In a later update, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the puppy had passed away. GCSO said it is devoted to bringing justice to the individual or individuals responsible for the heinous and disgusting act.
