The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Greco Middle School teacher for committing numerous sexual offenses against a juvenile and for possession of child pornography.

According to a news release from HCSO, 56-year-old James Goff was arrested on December 15 for his involvement in sex acts against a juvenile that occurred between May and November of 2023. Detectives acquired a search warrant and allegedly found numerous images of videos and child pornography.

Goff is facing multiple charges including those listed below.

• 28 counts of Promotion of a Sexual Performance by a Child
• Eight counts of Possession of Child Pornography
• Six counts of Lewd or Lascivious Battery
• One count of Use of Computer Services or Devices to Solicit Certain Illegal Acts
• One count of Transmission of Material Harmful to Minor
• One count of Unlawful Use of Two-Way Communication Device

Detectives do not believe any students were victims and the crimes were not committed on school property. Anyone with information is asked to contact HCSO at 813-247-8200.
