The Graves County Sheriff’s Office has announced the apprehension of a wanted fugitive. Around 4:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024, deputies in the area of Usher Road in a field and wooded area apprehended a man who was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants charging him with Methamphetamine and other charges. GCSO said the man ran from deputies but was taken into custody in a briar patch.
The suspect has been identified as 42-year-old James M. Majors. One deputy was treated at Jackson Purchase Medical Center and received stitches following an injury to his hand. GCSO said Majors has also been charged with resisting arrest and fleeing or evading police.
