The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that a man hung himself at the detention center. GPSO says that 28-year-old Landon Carter of Pollock was arrested for Sexual Battery, Battery of a Dating Partner, Telephone Harassment, Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling, and Criminal Damage to Property on September 18.

On September 23, GPSO deputies interacted with Carter throughout the day at the detention center. During one check, a deputy found that Carter had hung himself using a bed sheet.

Deputies began CPR and an ambulance responded. Despite lifesaving measures being taken, Carter could not be revived. No other details are available at this time.
