The Grand Tower Police Department has arrested a man who was in possession of meth. Around 10:18 p.m. on January 10, 2024, GTPD officers attempted to carry out a traffic stop on a white Ford F150 near Brunkhorst Avenue and 20th Street. The truck’s registration expired in 2021 and was seen leaving a residence known for narcotics, according to authorities.
The vehicle led police on a pursuit and nearly struck a patrol vehicle at one point. Eventually, the vehicle drove into a field and drove down the old park road. The vehicle struck a boulder and crashed. Grand Tower Police and Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies found the vehicle and a female exited through the passenger area.
Police say she advised that the male had fled towards the campground. The male suspect was found at a residence on Wills Drive where he had been previously. When police searched the suspect, they say they found methamphetamine in his jeans pockets. A search of his truck also found glass pipes with white residue that tested positive for meth as well as open alcohol bottles.
