A 50-year-old male is in custody following a vehicle pursuit on December 25, 2023. Christopher Mitchell was remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility on multiple charges, including vehicular eluding, reckless driving, criminal mischief, DUI, and reckless driving.
Grand Junction police were dispatched to 2635 N 7th Street, St. Mary’s Hospital, just before 5:00 a.m. on December 25, 2023, to investigate a possible vandalism. Dispatch received multiple calls regarding slashed tires in the parking lot.
A few hours later, dispatch received multiple calls of a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle driving recklessly. Officers pursued the suspect vehicle a short distance before the Christopher Mitchell stopped in the area of West Lake Park at 325 W. Orchard Avenue.
Troopers with the Colorado State Police, deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, and officers with the Grand Junction Police Department apprehended Mitchell.
