Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office investigating after woman was kidnapped drugged and shot

Update – The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office has identified the male who was found deceased as 49-year-old Lance Damon Reid. The woman has been identified as 45-year-old Amy Maynor Lejeune of Montgomery, Texas. GCSO says the two had recently met and were familiar with one another. They were reportedly on a planned weekend trip together when the incident occurred.

Update – The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office has provided an update in the shooting that happened on March 15. According to GCSO, the deceased man has been identified as 49-year-old Lance Damon Reid who lived in the Houston area.

The woman is only described as a 45-year-old Montgomery, Texas resident. No other details are available at this time.

Original – The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a woman reported that she was kidnapped, drugged, and shot. Around 12:42 p.m. on March 15, 2024, GCSO and Fredericksburg Fire & EMS responded to a call in which a woman said she had been kidnapped, drugged, and shot. Briefly, the woman’s whereabouts were unknown until authorities determined she was near a winery in the 10800 block of East US Highway 290.

GCSO says the woman was able to describe a vehicle and the weapon that was used. At the location, a deputy saw the vehicle sitting in the outside lane of westbound traffic and a male in the front seat area. The male appeared deceased. Emergency services personnel pronounced the man deceased.

Authorities met the female who was nearby. GCSO deputies and an investigator remained at the location to collect evidence while another investigator spoke to the woman at a local hospital. The man’s name is being withheld at this time.
