Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office arrests special Ed teacher for hitting students with hand and broom

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office announced that charges have been filed against a special Ed teacher for allegedly assaulting students. Sheriff Carter Weaver announced the arrest of 55-year-old Tracy Madarasz who served as a special education teacher at Andrews Elementary School.

Madarasz is charged with two counts of Assault and Battery 3rd Degree. She was taken into custody this evening. GCSO investigators and the School Resource Officer were told by witnesses that Madarasz struck one student on the backside with her hand and another with a broom.

It is also alleged that she threatened to kill the students in her classroom. A bond hearing is pending.
