Georgia Bureau of Investigation released the identity of the 34-year-old man involved in an officer-involved shooting in Coweta County. Dustin Allen Phillips had a warrant for his arrest out of Coweta County for fatally shooting his estranged wife on November 21, 2023.

Coweta County deputies attempted to execute a warrant for Phillips’ arrest at a residence on Halo Trace on November 22, 2023. A Phillips fled on foot when deputies arrived at the residence. A foot pursuit ensued. Phillips brandished a handgun and fired several shots at deputies. Deputies returned fire, hitting Phillips multiple times. Life-saving measures were rendered but unsuccessful. Medics pronounced Phillips deceased at the scene.
