The Garland Police Department is investigating a serious crash at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Firewheel Parkway. GPD says two females were seriously injured and one has passed away.

Around 12:45 p.m. on August 10, 2024, GPD officers and paramedics responded to a two-vehicle crash at the aforementioned intersection. At the scene, officers found that a minivan and a city of Garland vehicle had collided.

The minivan was occupied by two women at the time of the crash. One was taken to an area hospital. The other female succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The driver of the city-occupied vehicle was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing. GPD is not releasing the identities of those involved at this time.
