The Fresno Police Department has announced the arrest of a homicide suspect. FPD detectives arrested 41-year-old Ronald Zavala Ebanez for the murder of Ricardo Martinez Olguin.

Around 4 a.m. on September 22, 2024, Southeast FPD officers responded to a Shot Spotter activation in the 4400 block of East Floradora. At the scene, officers found 40-year-old Olguin lying next to a bicycle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Olguin told authorities he had been shot by an unknown individual on a bicycle. The victim was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

FPD’s Homicide Detectives say they identified Ebanez as the person responsible for the fatal shooting. Ebanez is being held at the Fresno County Jail on one count of Murder and one count of Assault with a Firearm.
