Fresno County Sheriff’s Office arrests 14-year-old boy for killing parents and injuring sister

Homicide Unit detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a 14-year-old boy who was booked into Juvenile Hall. The boy is facing two charges of murder and one count of attempted murder. Due to the child’s age, his name and photo are not being released by police.

The victims have been identified as 37-year-old Lue Yang and 37-year-old Se Vang. Police say they were husband and wife. Their 11-year-old daughter also suffered major injuries and is being treated at the hospital. The daughter is expected to survive.

Around 7:40 p.m. on December 27, 2023, Fresno County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of an injured person at a home in the 47000 block of Dunlap Road in Miramonte. A 14-year-old boy called 911 to report that someone had broken into the home and attacked his mom, dad, and sister.

The caller reportedly said the intruder fled the scene in a pickup truck. Once deputies entered the home, they found two deceased adults and an injured 11-year-old girl. Homicide detectives say they discovered inconsistencies with what supposedly happened. Detectives claim the evidence showed that the 14-year-old boy had fabricated the story of a break-in and was responsible for using multiple weapons to attack his family members.

Another young boy was home but was not injured. Detectives have not determined a motive for the attack.
