The Fremont Police Department has taken two juveniles into custody following a police pursuit. According to the Fremont Police Department, officers responded to a carjacking at an apartment complex on Stevenson Boulevard around 4:45 p.m. on April 2, 2024. At the scene, officers learned that the suspects pushed the victim down before stealing her vehicle.
FPD says the victim was not injured in the incident. The suspects fled the scene in the carjacked vehicle. Officers spotted an unoccupied vehicle with the engine running where the carjacked vehicle had been parked. That vehicle had been reported stolen previously. Authorities believe the suspects drove the stolen vehicle to the scene before carjacking the other vehicle.
After the carjacked vehicle was entered into a police database, it was located by Hayward Police Department officers, Oakland Police Department officers, and Alameda County Sheriff’s Office deputies. The vehicle fled from police and continued into Oakland where a helicopter provided details to ground units. At one point, two suspects fled from the carjacked vehicle.
The juvenile suspects were taken into custody and transferred to the Fremont Police Department. The juvenile suspects were arrested for Carjacking a Vehicle and Fleeing Pursuing Peace Officers. They were taken to Juvenile Hall.
