Freeport Police investigating triple shooting on South Carroll Avenue on Wednesday

Update – The Freeport Police Department announced that it is searching for 40-year-old Raymond Adams in connection to a triple shooting in the 900 block of South Carroll Avenue. A felony arrest warrant has been obtained for Adams.

The shoots fired incident occurred on September 25 and caused injuries to three individuals. At this time, Adams is not in custody. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact FPD at 815-235-8222 or Crime Stoppers at 866-TIPSNOW.

 

Original – The Freeport Police Department is currently investigating a triple shooting. FPD reports that its officers responded to the 900 block of South Carroll Avenue for a report of shots fired.  At the scene, officers found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

FPD says officers discovered that a third victim had been transported to FHN Hospital. A 53-year-old male victim suffered a minor graze. A 47-year-old male victim suffered a wound to his arm.

A 50-year-old male victim suffered a gunshot wound. The victim is in stable condition but was transferred to a Rockford area hospital for further treatment. FPD alleges that the victims were in front of a residence on Carroll Avenue when a black male suspect opened fire from behind a house.

The suspect fled the scene after the shooting. Authorities say there had been an argument between some of the individuals at the residence and the suspect before the shooting. It is not believed this was a random act of violence.
