Franklin County, Ohio – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that it is investigating the fatal shooting of a four-year-old girl.

According to FCSO, deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 8000 block of Beardsley Avenue in Jefferson Township around 4:30 a.m. on January 21, 2025.

At the scene, deputies reportedly found that a four-year-old girl had been shot by an unknown suspect in a possible targeted attack on the residence.

The victim was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus where she was pronounced deceased. FCSO detectives believe the victim was inside the home when unknown suspects or an unknown suspect approached the residence, fired shots from the street, and fled in a dark-colored sedan.

Detectives are working to identify the suspects and determine a motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made. FCSO asks anyone with information to contact the Detective Bureau at 614-525-3351.
