Update 2 – The Braintree Police Department has announced it received an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Jared C. Ravizza in connection to the stabbing incident at AMC. The warrant includes four counts of Assault to Murder and four counts of Assault and Battery with Dangerous Weapon.
Ravizza is accused of attacking four juveniles at the AMC movie theater on Grandview in Braintree. Ravizza is in custody on charges stemming from a similar attack in Plymouth County. BPD says the crime appears to be a completely senseless and random attack against defenseless, innocent children.
Around 7:15 p.m. last night, 26-year-old Jared Ravizza of Chilmark was arrested. He was transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. It is alleged that Ravizza carried out multiple South Shore stabbing incidents.
Around 7 p.m., police responded to 911 calls for reports of the stabbing of two workers at the McDonald’s in the Route 3 rest area in Plymouth. Following the stabbing, the suspect fled the scene.
A 21-year-old female victim suffered a knife laceration and was transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment. A 28-year-old male was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Plymouth Hospital for treatment.
Investigators say they reviewed surveillance video from the McDonald’s. The video allegedly shows Ravizza reaching through the drive-thru window and stabbing the male victim with a large knife. Then, he allegedly goes inside and stabs the second female.
Following the stabbing, authorities say Ravizza left the scene in a black Porsche. A witness provided the vehicle plate registration to Massachusetts State Police. It was determined that the black 2018 Porsche Macan was registered to Ravicca.
A BOLO had been issued for Ravizza’s arrest for other incidents. He was taken into custody in Sandwich around 7:15. Ravizza is facing multiple charges in Plymouth District Court, including Assault with Intent to Murder and two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
Original – Four juveniles were injured in a stabbing at an AMC in Braintree, Massachusetts. The Braintree Police Department is investigating the incident. BPD reports that a male entered the AMC Braintree 10 at 121 Grandview Avenue around 6 p.m. on May 25, 2024.
The male is accused of passing the ticket counter and entering the theater without paying. Once inside, he encountered four young females. Without warning and without saying anything, the male suddenly attacked and stabbed the four female victims.
BPD believes the attack was unprovoked. Following the attack, the man fled from the theater and left in a vehicle. The females range in age from 9 to 17. All victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to Boston hospitals for treatment.
BPD received video footage and retraced the suspect’s movement. They learned he had left the theater in a black SUV. A vehicle matching the description was reportedly involved in a similar assault in Plymouth.
The suspect vehicle was involved in a pursuit with the Massachusetts State Police until it crashed in Sandwich. The suspect was taken into custody. No other details are available at this time.
