The Sanford Police Department has arrested a former Elevation High School student on April 2. According to SPD, the School Resource Officer was informed that a former student arrived at the school to pick up his girlfriend just before 9 a.m. on April 1, 2024. SPD alleges that the former student, Kailon Young, pointed a firearm at three students who were standing outside the school in the parking lot.
He is also accused of making a threatening comment to the students. SPD says the preliminary investigation suggests the girlfriend had a recent dispute with one of the victims. On April 2, 2024, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office located Young who was taken into custody without incident.
Young is facing charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon without Intent to Kill and Possession or Discharging Weapons or Firearms at a School-Sponsored Event or on School Property.
