A former Metro Nashville Public Schools drama teacher is behind bars following a grand jury indictment for aggravated sexual battery of a minor. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, a former teacher is behind bars after being arrested by Nolensville Police officers in Williamson County.
The arrest is connected to a 2023 grand jury indictment for aggravated sexual battery of a minor connected to an incident at H.G. Hill Middle School. 60-year-old Gary Schleimer is accused of inappropriately touching a female student’s chest from behind above her clothing while they were alone in a classroom.
The incident was reported to the school principal. Before the report was made in the fall of 2022, Schleimer had not been selected for rehire by MNPS for the upcoming school year, according to MNPD. Schleimer is being held on a $100,000 bond.
