The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Florida Brandon Hospital ICU nurse for stealing 17 bags of fentanyl. Staff at the hospital contacted HCSO detectives regarding an internal investigation into 55-year-old Lisa Williams on December 12, 2023.

Detectives say it was discovered that Williams was stealing 100 mL fentanyl IV bags dating back to October 2, 2023. It is also alleged that Williams had refilled the bags with an unknown substance before placing the tampered bags back into circulation.

One of those bags was recovered and will be tested by the FDA. On December 19, 2023, arrest warrants were obtained for Lisa Williams. She is charged with 17 counts of trafficking in fentanyl and 17 counts of grand theft of a controlled substance.

On December 21, 2023, Lisa Williams was taken into custody without incident.
