Farmington Police investigate Hermosa Middle School substitute teacher for inappropriate contact with students

The Farmington Police Department is investigating allegations of inappropriate contact at the Hermosa Middle School. FPD reports that officers responded to the school for two incidents in which students disclosed inappropriate contact with a substitute teacher on May 17.

Farmington Municipal Schools took immediate action. FPD initiated a criminal investigation into the allegation. FPD says the teacher, 29-year-old Jose Nunez, has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor.

The criminal investigation is ongoing. Parents are urged to speak to their children. Anyone with information is asked to contact FPD’s Detective Division at 505-599-1005.
