Update – According to the Fairfax County Police, the situation remains unchanged. Negotiations continue with the man as of 1:18 AM. As a precaution, the apartment buildings were evacuated earlier in the situation.

Fairfax County Police said on its social media page that it is dealing with an adult male barricaded with a knife in his apartment. Officers are in the 6000 block of Bellview Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads. An adult man is reportedly barricaded alone inside his apartment with a knife.

Authorities say the man assaulted a victim with a bat before barricading himself inside. The victim sustained minor injuries in the assault. Locals are asked to avoid this area until the situation can be resolved. Officers are attempting to negotiate with the suspect.
