Update – A suspect has been charged in connection to the motorcyclist’s death. The Fairfax County Police Department said that the crash involved a 2023 Kawasaki ZX and a 2007 Ford F-150. Detectives believe the driver of the Ford F-150 was traveling east on Memorial Street and entered the intersection of South Kings Highway.
The motorcyclist was traveling south on South Kings Highway and hit the driver’s side of the F-150. 28-year-old Jonathan Bartell of Alexandria was driving the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the F-150 was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
DWI Squad officers obtained a warrant for Driving Under the Influence for 34-year-old Santos Adrian Ventura Fuentes. At this time, Fuentes is being held without bond.
Original – A man is dead following a motorcycle crash in Hybla Valley, Virginia. The Fairfax County Police Department reports that officers are on the scene of the crash near Memorial Street and South Kings Highway.
FCPD says an adult male motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene. Crash Reconstruction detectives have responded to the scene to investigate.
South Kings Highway is closed until the matter can be resolved. FCPD advises using an alternate route. No other details are available at this time.
