Eugene Police arrests 48-year-old woman on 46 counts of animal neglect

The Eugene Police Department reports that it has arrested 48-year-old Alyse Ninnette Edmonson on 46 counts of Animal Neglect. According to EPD, Animal Services responded to a call for service about a vacated apartment with at least 17 cats and abandoned kittens on August 21, 2023.

Authorities say that the tenant, 48-year-old Alyse Ninnette Edmonson, had turned in her keys earlier that day. EPD alleges that some of the cats appeared malnourished and needed veterinary care.

Animal Services reportedly found the apartment covered in feces and urine with no food or water present. Some of the cats were taken to the Greenhill Humane Society while others were transported to Feline Good.

EPD says there were 46 cats in total. Animal Services investigated the abandonment and neglect. A warrant was issued for Edmonson. On October 16, Edmondson was arrested at an apartment in the 1600 block of Olive Street.

She was booked on 46 counts of Animal Neglect in the Second Degree. Authorities say they’re searching for 42-year-old Daniel James Thellman who is wanted for Anima Neglect. EPD urges anyone with information to call Animal Services at 541-682-5748.
