The Eugene Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to Saturday’s homicide on East 14th Street. EPD says it has been working to minimize acts of retaliation between two groups of individuals believed to be involved.
Since the fatal shooting, there have been two other firearm-related incidents. EPD says these incidents have not been definitively tied to the homicide case. The incidents include shots fired in the 1500 block of Mill Street and a shooting in the 3600 block of West 13th Avenue.
EPD detectives say they have identified 18-year-old Christopher Michael Lekoff as a suspect in the homicide. On July 16, Lekoff was arrested in Springfield. He was booked into the Lane County Jail on charges of Assault, Menacing, and Unlawful Use Weapon.
No other details are available at this time.
