The Enfield Police Department has arrested a 44-year-old man in connection to a road rage shooting incident. EPD reports that it received a call reporting a road rage incident during which a shot was fired on Freshwater Boulevard around 11:54 p.m. on July 3, 2024.

The suspect vehicle fled the area but was later found at 50 Belle Avenue in Enfield. EPD confirms that no injuries were reported. The suspect was apprehended on Ganny Terrace following a high-risk motor vehicle stop.

44-year-old Peter Smario III was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Assault, Unlawful Discharge of Firearm, Violation of a Restraining Order, Possession of a Firearm without a Permit, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal mischief, Threatening, and Weapons in a Motor Vehicle.

At this time, Smario is being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
