The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a non-fatal shooting with multiple juvenile victims. According to EPD, 911 Communications received a 911 call about a shooting in the 300 block of Jackson Street around 9 p.m. on March 23, 2024. EPD officers and fire responders were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, responding officers found a 12-year-old male with a gunshot wound.
The victim was provided first aid before the victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Communications informed officers that there were two more gunshot wound victims in the 100 block of North Main Street. The victims are 16 and 17. They were transported to the hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
EPD says the initial investigation suggests these individuals were all shot in the same incident and fled from the scene. No arrests have been made at this time.
